They do have some flaws however, which hinder them from being our top option. One of the weaknesses of the Q5 is its navigation system doesn't have AI-powered obstacles avoidance. It's also prone to become stuck on socks and shoes, and it couldn't navigate through rooms with a lot of people well in our tests. Also, it doesn't have a camera that would let it see the corners of an area.
It's still a great deal particularly if your home or office has lots of unfinished flooring and you're looking to save money. Plus, it's very quiet and can work while you're at work or at school. It's not equipped with the edge-to-edge floor vacuuming feature that's offered in the more expensive iRobot Roomba X30. And it's less effective at mopping, as it relies on disposable wet wipes that don't stay on for long and don't take on dried-on debris. The Q5 comes with a self-emptying cradle that can be emptied by itself. If you need to, the mopping pad can be swapped for an awe-inspiring one in a matter of seconds.
2. iRobot Roomba X30
The iRobot Roomba X30 is a compact elegant vacuum cleaner that can also mop floors. Its intelligent cleaning maps as well as quick navigation make it easy to clean, and effective in tackling larger particles such as pet hair. It also has strong suction and an automatic bin for emptying. It's the best robotic hoover for carpets but it's not as good as other hoovers in terms of deep cleaning.

Its obstacle detection was great and it stayed clear of fake dog turds, socks, shoes and bundles of cables.
It's more expensive than the iRobot Combo v9+ and iRobot Roomba j9+, however, it comes with superior suction, a dustbin on board that automatically fills up its base, and supports voice commands through Amazon Alexa and Google Assistant. It even cleans the floor after it vacuums it, something we haven't seen in other robot vacuum/mop combinations.
3. iRobot Roomba X40
The robot vacuum and mop combination is sleek and has a circular look that looks more like a regular Roomba unit than the boxy models from the competitors. It's among our most attractive looking robot vacuums. iRobot’s latest flagship model is also among its most advanced. It comes with advanced features like enhanced dirt detection and future compatibility (another company's robot that can wash mop pads on its own).
It's the only robotic vacuum/mop to score an exemplary 10/10 in our tests due to a mix of high-tech sensors that include cameras, a structured lighting system, and multiple lasers. The X40 Ultra was the only robot we tested that could refill and empty its basestation in a self-contained manner. It also boasted an industry-leading suction of 12,000Pa as well as self-cleaning mops.
As with other iRobot models like the X40 is easy to use, offering a simple mobile app interface, and integration with Amazon Alexa, Apple HomeKit as well as Google Assistant. The only issue is that it's still quite an eerily noisy device that could be an issue if you use it in the morning prior to work or in the evening as you attempt to sleep.

The L20 Ultra is a hands-free cleaner like Ecovacs' top-of-the-range X2 Omni or Roborock's S8 Pro Ultra. It comes with a multi-function dock that will automatically emptys the bin of the vacuum, refills the water tank, as well as washes and drys the mop pads.

iRobot RX3
The RX3 is more sophisticated than its price suggests. It vacuums well and was able to remove 55% of debris in our tests. (It was second to the Roomba Q5 Pro). It also mopses with one pad, which uses a reciprocating motion that is cleaner than the other robot mop cleaners we've examined. And it's highly self-sufficient with a full-featured application and an auto-emptying, washable base.
The iRobot app is designed to help you navigate a mapping run which collects information about your floorplan as well as any "no go" areas that you've marked on the map. It can be used to create cleaning schedules or to create a spot-clean. It can also be used to it to prioritize the most soiled areas for better performance. The app also grants access to many features, such as seasonal suggestions, custom maps, and advanced settings for your cleaning.
